The University of Namibia ( UNAM ), Student Representative Council ( SRC ) President , Twapewa – Ashishe Mungoba , has encouraged young people to take advantage of career counselling opportunities when making a career decision . Mungoba stated this at the Career Virtual Experience ( VX ) exhibition hosted by Network Media Hub ( NMH )’ s My Zone , at the UNAM Main Campus , on Friday , further emphasising the importance of planning as young people . Network Media Hub ( NMH )’ s My Zone , is a youth brand that strives to empower upcoming photographers , designers , and journalists . ‘ If you don ‘ t plan your life accordingly it is easy to go off route , because your life is not planned and you can find yourself studying a career that you do not even want to study ,’ noted Mungoba . She said the current generation is fortunate to have access to resources like career fairs , which assist learners in choosing their courses of study before they finish high school . ‘ Many of our parents were not exposed to career
fairs and that goes to show how privileged we are to have individuals that believe in the importance of empowering the youth for us to then study what we truly want ,’ stated Mungobe . She told the learners that success is determined by the impact one makes , not only by the career one selects , further urging students to constantly make an impact , regardless of the job they ultimately choose . The one – day event was attended by learners from the Windhoek Technical High School , Academia Secondary School , Hage Geingob High School , Rocky Crest High School , Westmont High School , Pioneers Boys , Augustineum Secondary School and Chairman Mao Zedong High School .
