The Independent High Authority for Elections (ISIE) had reported 14 alleged electoral crimes during the campaign for the run-off local elections up to February 2. These alleged crimes had been referred to the Public Prosecutor's Office, said ISIE member Nejla Abrougui on Sunday. At a press conference held on Sunday evening to announce the turnout for the run-off local elections, Abrougui said that these offences involved "attempts to undermine the electoral process and the ISIE, to spread fake news and to defame and insult candidates." Regarding the turnout for the run-off local elections, which stands at around 12.44%, Abrougi pointed out that this preliminary figure could be revised considerably upwards.
