Two candidates are standing in the run-off local elections in the Riadh Bouhlel constituency in the El Jem delegation (Mahdia governorate). They are Mohamed Obaid and Khemais Salem, who succeeded in obtaining 374 and 343 votes, respectively, in the first round. The two candidates' programmes meet on a number of points, notably the need to break the region's isolation by paving rural tracks, the urgent need to build a secondary school - a project long-awaited by the inhabitants of the imada - and primary schools in certain towns. The two candidates also pledged to create a municipal district in Riadh Bouhlel to bring municipal services closer to residents, in addition to a fully-equipped children's club, as well as supporting farmers and encouraging the foddering of wells for irrigation purposes.
