A 38-year-old man allegedly stabbed his 34-year-old girlfriend to death at Ehafo village in the Okaku Constituency before committing suicide on Friday. The Head of the Namibian Police Force's Community Policing Sub-Division, Chief Inspector Thomas Aiyambo, said the incident occurred around 07h00 on Friday. Aiyambo identified the deceased as Elia Shitongeni Hamukwaya and his girlfriend, Emilia Nangombe. 'It is alleged that Hamukwaya fatally stabbed Nangombe with a kitchen knife and then committed suicide by hanging himself with a rope from a marula tree near his family homestead,' he said. He added that a bloodstained knife was found at the scene. The deceased's next of kin have been informed of their deaths and their bodies were transported to the Oshakati Police Mortuary for a postmortem. Police investigations into the matter continue.
