Minister of Public Works and Housing Sarra Zaafrani Zanzari and Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates in Tunis Eman Al Salami discussed at a meeting Friday the long-stalled "Sama Dubai" project. In 2007, Tunisia ratified a draft law enabling the Tunisian government to commit and adhere to an investment agreement in the southern lake of Tunis. However, the draft law has not yet been implemented, said a Ministry statement. The agreement signed by Tunisia with Sama Dubai UAE aims to implement the project to develop commercial and residential complexes with investments estimated at around TND 18 billion. During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the existing relations between Tunisia and the United Arab Emirates, ways to further enhance bilateral cooperation and prospects for the development of Emirati investments in Tunisia. The UAE Ambassador to Tunisia stressed during the meeting her country's readiness to continue supporting opportunities for cooperation and partnership with Tunisia, according to the s ame source.
