A five-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a 14-year-old boy at Eegologolo village in the Oshikoto Region on Saturday. According to the Namibian Police Force's crime investigations coordinator for the region, Deputy Commissioner Titus Ekandjo, the incident occurred around 17h00 when the victim was left home alone while her parents went to a funeral. 'It is alleged that the victim was left home alone while her parents went to a neighbouring village for a funeral service. The suspect found the girl alone at home and had sexual intercourse with her under coercive circumstances,' Ekandjo said. He added that after the suspect left, the girl ran to her grandmother's house where she reported the matter. The suspect has been arrested and will be released into the care of his guardian while the investigation continues. Source :The Namibia News Agency
