Tunis: Acting Minister of Cultural Affairs Moncef Boukthir, Monday, made an unannounced visit to several historical buildings and monuments in the Medina of Tunis to learn about the progress of the restoration and redevelopment works undertaken for a certain period. The visit included the Diwan Public Library, the El-Attarine Barracks (former headquarters of the National Library), the headquarters of the "Midhat el-Soltan" archaeological map project (ablution room) and the Khaldounia Library. The Minister called for finishing the restoration works as soon as possible so that these structures are functional and ready to welcome visitors. Source: Agence Tunis Afrique Presse
