Tunis: The National Council of Regions and Districts will start considering its rules of procedure at a plenary session on Monday, July 1. The drafting of these rules of procedure was kicked off at the end of last April. At the start of the plenary session, which will be held at the Council's headquarters in Bardo, the report of the committee in charge of drawing up these rules will be read out by the committee's rapporteur or a member of its bureau. The National Council of Regions and Districts is made up of 77 members, 72 of whom are elected by the members of the regional councils on the basis of three members per council (24 regional councils), and 5 members of the district councils on the basis of one member per district. According to Article 85 of the Constitution of 2022, the National Council of Regions and Districts exercises powers of control and accountability in various matters related to the implementation of the budget and development plans in Tunisia.
