The tourist zone of Monastir recorded 521 thousand 830 visitors during the period going from January 1st, 2023 to December 20, 2023, i.e. up by 19.6% in comparison with the same period in 2022. During the same period, the number of overnight stays had reached two million 572 thousand, up 41.1%, Regional Tourism Director Fawaz Ben Halima told TAP. The local market tops the list in terms of visitor numbers, followed by the French, Algerian, British and German markets, he added.
