A mobile screening unit for sexually transmitted infections (STIs) will tour the country's various regions this week at the initiative of the National Family and Population Board (ONFP), said its director Abdeldayem Khelifi. Speaking to reporters, on the sidelines of the opening of a training session for a high-level delegation from Mali on the fight against gender-based violence, he said the unit would target young people and visit universities, training and youth centres in different regions and neighbourhoods to reach as many young people as possible. The unit will be equipped with AIDS screening equipment and tools, tests and medicines, and a team consisting of a doctor or midwife and a psychologist, he said, stressing that this initiative is part of the "National Strategy for the Promotion of Youth Health".
