Operation restore lands suspect behind bars

Firearm related crime in the Western Cape has been prioritised so that a safer environment can be created for the inhabitants of this province. Our operations are directed at this priority, and it is our endeavour to disarm criminals by the numbers. Operation Restore, one of our initiatives to clamp down on the illegal possession of firearms delivered on our endeavours when a 19-year-old suspect was apprehended last night in Samora Machel for being in possession of an unlicensed firearm without a serial number, and ammunition. He is expected to make his court appearance in Athlone tomorrow for the possession of a prohibited firearm and ammunition.

Kraaifontein members were just as vigilant when their efforts led to the arrest of a 27-year-old man in Bloekombos last night when he was caught in possession of an unlicensed 9mm pistol and ammunition. He is also scheduled for court and will be making his appearance in Blue Downs.
