Yangon: Myanmar police seized 109,000 stimulant tablets in the eastern Shan State, according to the Central Committee for Drug Abuse Control (CCDAC) on Saturday. Acting on a tip-off, the joint anti-narcotics task force inspected a motorcycle in the state's Kengtung town on Friday and confiscated the drugs. Two suspects were arrested and charged in the case. The seized drugs had a street value of 43.6 million kyats (about 20,760 U.S. dollars), the CCDAC said. Further investigations are underway, it added. Source: The Namibia Press Agency
