An upcoming ' We Are Not Gonna Do That ' motivational event will include a workshop that will address fundamental financial principles with interactive real - life instances to boost comprehension and eliminate financial guilt among young people . The event will take place on 28 September at Windhoek ' s Be Free Youth Campus in Katutura . Jessica Kaimu , the organiser and founder of the We Are Not Gonna That event , on Tuesday told Nampa that this year ' s event will be held under the theme ' Overcoming Financial Shame ' and will delve into the psychological factors that negatively impact individuals , particularly youth . ' Many young people today succumb to peer pressure , leading to excessive debt accumulation in their pursuit of perceived wealth or status . This theme seeks to address these issues by promoting financial literacy , resilience , and a healthy relationship with money ,' she added . The event will also feature industry experts , financial advisors , and entrepreneurs who will share practical experience and insight on financial management , as well as encourage young people on how to deal with financial difficulties . According to Kaimu , ' We are not gonna do that ' is a term that evolved from what was considered a television blooper over three years ago to what motivates people today . ' What started as an unintentional moment has evolved into a powerful motivational concept , encouraging individuals to embrace authenticity and resilience in the face of challenges ,' she noted . She also stated that last year ' s topic , ' Breaking Bad Habits ', was a huge success , drawing a varied audience from all walks of life , including professionals , entrepreneurs , business executives , and government officials . The major speakers will be Lazarus Jacobs , a business leader , and Ester Kali , the Chief Executive Officer ( CEO ) of Letshego. Source: The Namibia News Agency
