PETROAFRICA 2024 and LOGISTICA AFRICA EXPO 2024 June 25-28 in Tunis

Tunis: The 9th International Oil, Gas and Renewable Energy Exhibition (PETROAFRICA 2024) and the International Logistics and Transport Exhibition (LOGISTICA AFRICA EXPO 2024), to be held in Tunis from June 25 to 28, will be attended by 220 companies, said Basma Hamaidi, officer in charge of the organisation of the exhibitions, at a press conference held in Tunis to present the programme for the two events.

In previous editions, the fair was limited to the presentation of a scientific forum, she pointed out, adding that this edition will see a broadening of its activities to include scientific roadmaps, the organisation of workshops to examine issues relating to the transport of dangerous products and insurance, and meetings between participants and experts.

Hamaidi revealed that 40% of the participating companies are foreign, of which 50% are from Libya. The others come from Saudi Arabia, China, India, the United Arab Emirates, Algeria, Italy, France, Egypt, Turkey, Nigeria, Senegal and Angola.

The main th
emes of the exhibitions are green hydrogen, reducing carbon emissions, technology, energy and the environment.

She pointed out that Tunisia is one of the countries providing energy services, not only as a producer.

These two events will enable new partnerships to be formed, said Hamaidi, adding that the event will also help to regain the confidence of investors, especially those who have left Tunisia.

For his part, Mahboub Dridr, head of Libya’s National Oil Corporation (NOC), stressed the wealth of the sector open to Tunisian companies wishing to invest in Libya, particularly in view of the reluctance of foreign companies which disinvested.

He pointed out that the basic infrastructure, maintenance, pipeline industry and renewable energy sectors offer significant investment opportunities.

At the same time, he called on Tunisian companies operating in the energy and renewable energy sectors to reinvest in Libya, focusing in particular on green hydrogen, which will play an important role in achieving progr
ess in advanced techniques in the oil and gas industry in Libya and Tunisia, as well as in Africa.
