Lichtenburg: Lichtenburg Crime Prevention members arrested a 35-year-old man during an intelligence-driven operation on Thursday afternoon, 27 February 2025, for possession of housebreaking implements. According to South African Police Service, the arrest stemmed from the operationalisation of information about the suspect's whereabouts and involvement in business burglaries in and around Kieserville, Lichtenburg. Upon apprehending the suspect on Beyers Naude Street, police found him carrying a backpack containing tools allegedly used for committing burglaries. He was linked to a business burglary committed in Kieserville, Lichtenburg, and it was also found that the suspect has a pending burglary case. The suspect is expected to appear before the Lichtenburg Magistrates Court on Monday, 03 February 2025. Major General Patrick Asaneng, the Acting Provincial Commissioner of North West, commended the team for their efforts in tracking and arresting a repeat offender.
