Police Commend Community Involvement in Arrest of Suspects in Ndlovu Murder Case

Nokaneng: The National Commissioner of the South African Police Service (SAPS), General Fannie Masemola, has expressed gratitude towards the public for their collaboration and support in the investigation of the Aserie Ndlovu and Zodwa Mdhluli case. According to South African Government News Agency, on Saturday, SAPS issued an alert seeking public assistance in locating two remaining suspects in the case involving the murder of journalist Aserie Ndlovu and his partner, Zodwa Mdhluli. The breakthrough came on Monday evening when SAPS Crime Intelligence officers, along with detectives and the Cyber Crime Unit, arrested the suspects at a hideout in Nokaneng near Rust De Winter, aided by community members. Human remains, believed to belong to the missing journalist and his partner, were discovered at the location, and a DNA matching process is underway to confirm their identities. SAPS has reported the arrest of 24-year-old Thato 'Small' Madisha and 43-year-old Sello Uoane during the early hours of Tuesday morn ing. A third suspect was also apprehended, adding to the four suspects already in custody related to this case. General Masemola praised the combined efforts of the multidisciplinary team and the community members who provided vital information regarding the suspects' hideout. He emphasized the role of the South African public, particularly those from Mpumalanga, in assisting the investigation team. Additionally, he acknowledged the impact of social media in disseminating the suspects' images widely. The case saw a significant development last week when police discovered two bodies, suspected to be those of Ndlovu and Mdhluli. The couple had been missing since February 18, 2025. This discovery resulted from an extensive investigation conducted by a team of law enforcement agencies.
