Rus de Winter: The police discovered human remains at Rapotokwane CCZ Farm next to D2774 road in Rus de Winter on 08 May 2025. The formidable team of SAPS members from National, Gauteng, and Mpumalanga discovered the remains following the arrest of five suspects linked to the disappearance of Aserie Ndlovu and Zodwa Precious Mdhluli in February 2025.

According to South African Police Service, the investigation is currently focused on identifying the discovered remains, with efforts underway to determine their identity. The motive behind the incident is also being investigated as part of the ongoing inquiry.

On the same day the remains were found, investigation officers, including Warrant Officer William Maapula from KwaMhlanga SAPS Detectives and Colonel Sarah Radebe, Branch Commander of Mamelodi SAPS, visited Aserie Ndlovu’s mother in Mahlabathini, KwaMhlanga, Mpumalanga, to inform her about the discovery. Major General Shibiri, who leads the investigating team, communicated the findings to Zodwa Precious Mdhluli’s sister-in-law in Tembisa.

The Acting Provincial Commissioner of the SAPS in Mpumalanga, Major General (Dr) Zeph Mkhwanazi, commended the team for their efforts and reassured the families involved that the police would continue to work collaboratively throughout the investigation. The families were assured they would be kept informed of any new developments as the investigation progresses.
