Police on the heels of rape suspects of elderly woman

The Police in Leboweng outside Burgersfort have launched a massive manhunt for the suspects involved in the horrific rape of an elderly woman.

The ordeal took place yesterday 04 June 2018, when a 93-year-old woman was raped by unknown suspects.

It is alleged that the victim was awaken by these suspects who forcefully entered her house through the window.

The suspects demanded money, afterwards they raped her and fled the scene with cash amount of money.

The Limpopo Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Nneke Ledwaba has expressed disappointment and disgust on this heinous behaviour.

He further issued a stern warning to would be rapists who victimise vulnerable individuals especially women and children that their days are numbered. “It is upon everyone’s responsibility as society to protect our elders to avoid such disturbing incidents to happen.”

The Police will not rest until these perpetrators are brought to book and we will then ensure that justice is prevailed, concluded General Ledwaba.
