Tunis: President Kais Saied made an unannounced visit to the Nouil area of the Douz commune in the Kebili governorate on Saturday evening, where he met with a group of citizens and listened to their concerns and suggestions, as well as the difficulties they face, particularly with regard to the launch of projects and the lack of response from the authorities concerned to their demands, according to a statement from the presidency. The President of the Republic reiterated the need for all civil servants to fulfil their duties towards citizens and provide them with the services they need in full compliance with the law, adding that all citizens are equal and there is no room for discrimination. The State will not tolerate those who are lax in serving citizens, whether at national, regional or local level, he stressed. The President of the Republic also shared the Iftar meal with a number of citizens at Bir Belgacem in Douz. On this occasion, he stressed that the Tunisian desert has a lot of wealth and compete ncies and that "with a firm will and determination, many of its areas can be transformed into green spaces, so that the whole of Tunisia, from north to south, becomes greener and each citizen has his full and undiminished rights in every inch of it".
