The preparations for the pilgrimage season were at the centre of the meeting which took place on Monday at Carthage Palace between President of the Republic, Kais Saïed and Minister of Religious Affairs, Brahim Chaïbi.

Quoted in a press release of the Presidency of the Republic, the Head of State discussed with the Minister the reasons behind the persistent rise in prices and tariffs related to travel and accommodation of an ordinary citizen wishing to perform the Hajj ritual despite the reductions to which several parties have contributed.

According to the same press release, the president of took the opportunity to emphasise the need to work so that Tunisian pilgrims are fully informed about the progress of this religious ritual, recommending to choose the accompanying persons according to objective criteria so that they can best perform their role.
