Candidates in the run-off local elections Lassad Jomni and Abdessalem Mohamed in Techine locality of Matmata delegation (Gabes Governorate) have launched their electoral campaigns. The two candidates, with 45.67% and 35.43% in the first round, respectively, presented their election manifesto to the region's electorate. Candidate Lassad Jomni pledged to catalyse development in the region, with a primary focus on the tourism sector, an untapped industry with substantial potential, he said. He committed to supporting the youth in starting businesses and establishing communitarian companies. Similarly, candidate Abdessalem Mohamed has centred his programme on fostering investments in the tourism sector within the region, vowing to work towards earning Matmata the UNESCO World Heritage label.
