Public assistance sought to locate CIT suspects

EASTERN CAPE – The East London based Hawks’ Serious Organised Crime Investigation seek public assistance in locating three wanted suspects, Simthembile Mwahla (41), Thandile Sitwayi (41) and Sibongiseni Mbhele (43). The trio is sought in connection with the cash-in-transit (CIT) robberies that have been taking place in the province.

Mbhele is believed to be known in the Port St John’s area whereas Sitwayi is allegedly known in the East London, Gqeberha and Mthatha areas. Mwahla is reported to be known in Butterworth and Mthatha area.

Anyone who might know the whereabouts of the trio should contact the investigating officer, Warrant Officer Thamsanqa Mlumbi on 071 481 3009 / 043 709 0623 alternatively contact the nearest police station. Crime Stop number 08600 10111 can also be contacted or send a message to 32211.

The public is requested not to approach the suspects on their own as they are deemed dangerous. Information received will be treated with the strictest confidentiality.
