The Vrede Family, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit together with National Prosecuting Authority secured 10 years direct imprisonment after finding Thekiso Dawid Dhlamini guilty for raping  25-year-old woman in Zamani near Memel.

During 24 October 2021 the victim, 25-year-old was drinking liquor with her brother and some friends. She then left for bathroom. Suddenly the toilet door opened when the accused came inside. The victim asked him why he can’t wait outside until she’s done using the toilet but he couldn’t respond. He pushed the victim to the corner and raped her. He was arrested and kept in prison until he was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment on 30 November 2022 by Vrede Regional Court. The matter was investigated by Warrant Officer SJ Tsotetsi of Vrede FCS
