Riyadh: ROSHN Group, in partnership with Keswat Farah Charity, has set a new Guinness World Record for the largest clothing donation, a ROSHN press release stated. The recent donation drive conducted during Ramadan received a contribution of over 1.5 million clothing items from the Saudi public. Over three and a half thousand volunteers from Keswat Farah, the Saudi public, and ROSHN employees gave more than 70,000 hours to collect and arrange all the donations during the first half of this year, with the latest drive achieving a Guinness World Record title for the single largest donation made in one go. According to the release, the donation campaigns are part of ROSHN's YUHYEEK Social Responsibility Program, which aims to raise the quality of life for those in need throughout the country through partnerships with leading organizations in the non-profit sector. Moreover, the clothing donations have also contributed to the nation's efforts to promote environmental materiality, mitigating almost 18,000 kilo grams of CO2 by giving pre-owned clothing a new lease of life rather than being manufactured. ROSHN Group's Chief Marketing Officer Ghada AlRumayan emphasized the company's dedication to society: "These clothing drives, which have been undertaken in partnership with charities including Keswat Farah, will make a meaningful difference to the lives of tens of thousands of people." AlRumayan expressed gratitude towards the donors and highlighted Saudi society's generosity and compassion. Source: Saudi Press Agency
