Candidates in run-off local elections in Remilia constituency (Souk Jedid delegation/Sidi Bouzid) Abdelwaheb Dahri ( 375 votes in the first round) and Mahmoud Sakhri (309 votes) voiced interest in developing agriculture. Abdelwaheb Dahri promises in his election platform to adopt a new approach to achieve grain and fodder self-sufficiency, promote the use of solar energy in agricultury and industry and seek to grant loans to farmers and create a wholesale market in the region. Better healthcare services and a sports and cultural centre for local youth are additiona pledges. Mahmoud Sakhri's election platform is premised on promoting agriculture, laying out rural tracks and rehabilitating the irrigated area at El Hjar and Goulebd.
