The total turnout in the run-off local elections reached 12.44% when the polling stations closed at 18:00 on Sunday, announced the President of the Independent High Electoral Authority (ISIE), Farouk Bouasker. Speaking during a press conference held at the media centre of the Sports Palace in El Menzah, Bouasker added that the total number of voters who cast their ballots on Sunday was 520,303 citizens out of 4,181,871 registered voters for the run-off elections. An 11.84% turnout was recorded in the first round of the elections, with 35% women and 65% men," the same source added. The highest participation rate was observed in Sidi Bouzid governorate (26%), followed by Zaghouan (22.2%), Kasserine (21.8%), and Mahdia (20.5%). Source: Agence Tunis Afrique Presse
