Saied: presidential election will take place in full compliance with conditions of 2022 Constitution [Upd 1]

_:President of the Republic Kais Saied said the upcoming presidential elections will take place in strict compliance with the conditions laid down in July 25, 2022 Constitution. This was as he met Wednesday in Carthage with President of the Independent High Authority for Elections (French: ISIE) Farouk Bouasker. The 2022 Constitution set out new eligibility criteria for the presidential elections, the President said, and thus there is no need today to discuss the amendment of the election law. The provisions of the Constitution do not run counter to the election law. Additionally, the constitution, the Head of State said, takes precedence over the dispositions of any subordinate legislation. The latest presidential elections were held in October 2019.
