SAPS Mphephu takes 16 Days of Activism awareness campaign to schools

MPHEPHU – In concerted efforts to combat crime and also to heighten the level of awareness amongst the community, the Police in Mphephu organised an awareness campaign targeting learners and the parents with special emphasis on crimes against women and children while also focusing on Gender-Based Violence and Femicide in support of the 16 Days of Activism for no Violence against Women and Children awareness campaign.

The campaign was conducted at the three Primary Schools, namely Rabali, Dzivhalanombe and Malema on Friday, 02 December 2022.

The campaign was facilitated by SAPS members including the PSA employees, Ward Councilor, Pastors, Community Police Forum, Departments of  Education and Health as well as the Victim Empowerment led by the Social Crime Prevention Coordinator Warrant Officer Marubini Netshidzati in collaboration with the Station Communication Officer Sergeant Omphulusa Tshikalaha.

During the proceedings, about 1,000 pamphlets containing information on sexual offences and domestic violence as well as safety tips were distributed amongst the Learners.

The Learners were awarded with medals and SAPS branded items were handed out.
