SAPS Sandringham members nab three suspected hijackers and recover an unlicensed firearm

GAUTENG – Members of SAPS Sandringham arrested three suspected hijackers in Lombardy East on Monday, 04 April 2022 and recovered an unlicensed firearm.

The members were reportedly out patrolling their policing precinct when they detected the three suspects attempting to hijack a vehicle on the Modderfontein road on-ramp to the N3 road. The suspects fired gun shots and the SAPS members returned fire; two of the suspects were wounded during the shootout. The three suspects were shortly apprehended and an unlicensed firearm found in their possession was seized.

The Station Commander of SAPS Sandringham, Colonel Sanet Williams applauded her members’ swift action which led to the apprehension of the suspected hijackers.
