Candidates for the Bouzaiène constituency in the Sfax south delegation, Bassem Gargouri and Rihem El Haj Kacem, are running in the local elections run-off. They received 453 and 246 votes respectively in the first round. Candidate Bassem Gargouri told TAP of his commitment to implementing the projects planned by the local authorities, particularly in the areas of road rehabilitation, access to electricity and local services, and environmental protection. He promised to work to improve schools, promote regional economic development, diversify the region's sports and cultural facilities and help the poor. For his part, Rihem El Haj Kacem promised to improve the living conditions of the local population, ensure the reopening of the public library, create a health trail, develop the primary health centre in Bouzaiène and strengthen cultural activities.
