Static roadblock, two found in possession of crystal meth worth more than R15 000

KIMBERLEY – Police in Colesberg pounced on crystal meth worth more than R15 000-00 during a static road block on the N1. On Saturday, 16 July 2022, the suspects’ vehicle was stopped and searched at a roadblock.

Police searched and found the suspects in possession of crystal meth. The two are expected to appear in the Colesberg Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 18 July 2022 on charges of possession of drugs.

The focus of the roadblock, was to address the transportation of illicit goods, including stolen vehicles, illegal firearms, stolen livestock and drugs.

More than 64 persons were searched including 35 light motor vehicles and 13 heavy motor vehicles. Fines to the value of R15 000-00 were issued to motorists for contravention of Road Traffic Act.

The Acting District Commander of Pixley Ka Seme, Brigadier Nomana Adonis applauded members for their efforts in fighting crime and bringing perpetrators to book.
