The quick reaction by members of Manenberg police in the early hours of this morning (Monday, 2021-06-07), led to arrest of a 26-year-old male.

The members were busy with patrols when they spotted a suspicious vehicle in Gamtoos Road in Manenberg. They approached the vehicle and found the suspect inside armed with a 9mm pistol and 12 rounds of ammunition.

The suspect could not produce a valid licence to be in possession of such a firearm. He was arrested and once charged, he is expected to make a court appearance in the Athlone Magistrate court.
