Teen girl raped in Omusati

A 14-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a neighbour in the Onepandaulo village of the Etayi Constituency. Namibian Police Omusati crime investigations coordinator, Deputy Commissioner Moses Simaho said the incident which allegedly occurred sometime between March and April 2024, was only reported on Thursday. 'It is alleged that the suspect who is a neighbour to the victim, called the victim to his house, and called her into his sleeping room and had sexual intercourse with her,' he said. The matter was reported to the police by the victim's 62-year-old grandfather. Simaho indicated that the suspect is known, but not yet arrested. Police investigation into the matter continues.
