A 19-year-old girl was reportedly raped by a 30-year-old male suspect at Soetdoringlaagte location in Stampriet of the Hardap region on Saturday. According to Namibian Police Force (NamPol) Hardap regional crime investigations coordinator, Deputy Commissioner Eric Clay, the incident happened between 22h00 and 23h30. It is alleged that the suspect lured the girl and forcibly took her into the yard of an abandoned residence, where he had sexual intercourse with her, without her consent. 'Fortunately, the law enforcement moved quickly and arrested the suspect on Sunday, while trying to flee,' Clay said. The suspect is yet to appear in court and police investigations continue.
