FREE STATE – Police conducted a multi-disciplinary roadblock on the Dewetsdorp road on Saturday, 07 January 2023. An unlicensed firearm was found in a vehicle with Lesotho registration numbers.

The vehicle was stopped and while being searched, a.22 firearm with eight live rounds of ammunition was found hidden under a carpet in the back seat. A total of three suspects were arrested.

The arrested suspects aged 39, 43 and 53 will appear in the Bloemfontein Magistrate Court today for possession of an unlicensed firearm.
