OSHAKATI: A toddler reportedly drowned in a bucket of water at Uukuuvu village in the Okahao Constituency on Monday. The Namibian Police Force's Omusati Crime Investigations Coordinator, Deputy Commissioner Moses Simaho, said the incident occurred around 17h00 on Monday. According to Simaho, the girl aged 15 months was left home alone, sleeping on the ground in the hut by her caretaker while she went to the field to cut bushes. 'When she came back home, she found that the baby had drowned in a bucket of water,' he said. The deceased was identified as Iitembu Emilie Ndasilohenda. Simaho indicated that the body was taken to the Okahao police mortuary for a post-mortem. Police investigations continue. Source : The Namibia News Agency
