Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad Nabil Ammar and Monaco's Government Advisor - Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Isabelle Berro Amadei Thursday co-chaired the opening of the Tunisian-Monegasque business forum. The event is jointly organisd by the Tunisian Confederation of Industry, Trade and Handicrafts (French: UTICA), Monaco Economic Board (MEB) and the Federation of Monegasque Enterprises (FEDEM), on the sidelines of the Fourth Session of the Joint Commisssion on Foreign Affairs. A delegation of Tunisian and Monegasque business operators from various sectors attended the event, the ministry said. "The two ministers highlighted the distinguished ties of friendship and cooperation between the two countries and reiterated their common determination to further develop them so as to put in place a more efficient and fruitful partnership which would serve the interests" of both sides, reads a ministry press release. Minister Nabil Ammar reviewed "investment opportunities (in Tunisia) in different fields as well as the potential for an economic and financial partnership." Emphasis was also laid on the country's qualified labour force and privileged geographic location. In addition, Minister Ammar "underlined the efforts made by the Tunisian government to introduce several legislative and institutional reforms with a view to strengthening the attractiveness of the Tunisia siate." "While welcoming the growth of trade between the two countries in recent years despite a difficult international economic context (a 50% increase in trade between 2019 and 2022), the Monegasque Minister stressed the willingness of her government to support economic development in Tunisia," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs further said.
