Tozeur: Twenty-two return flights with 2,873 passengers on board have been operated from the Tozeur-Nefta international airport to the holy sites since the start of the Umrah season last December, Tozeur Governor Mohamed Aymen Bejaoui told TAP. The pilgrims' transport from the Tozeur-Nefta international airport during the Umrah season has followed a long period of suspension of activities at the airport, he indicated, adding that these flights has brought services closer to citizens and have positively impacted the airport's activity. "The success of the Umrah season testifies to the quality of the services provided by the airport, with regard to both domestic and international flights, towards achieving the aspired economic recovery in the region," he pointed out. All these flights had been operated by the national flag carrier Tunisair, the governor specified, pointing out the growing demand for the Tozeur tourist destination as the tourist season approaches.
