Two firearms recovered, suspects remanded in custody

The Sundumbili SAPS members acted on an intelligence driven information about the suspects on the way to commit a robbery in the Sundumbili area. The team proceeded to Masomonco area in Sundumbili, where a suspicious vehicle was spotted. A search was conducted and two suspects were arrested after they were found in possession of two unlicensed firearms plus 15 rounds of ammunition. Two suspects aged 21 and 42 were placed under arrest.
The suspects will also be profiled to check if they are linked to any other cases reported in the Sundumbili and surrounding areas. They appeared yesterday, 1 October 2018 in the Nyoni Magistrates’ Court for possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition. They were remanded in custody until 8 October 2018 for a formal bail application.
