Ambassador of the United States to Tunisia, Joey Hood, on Monday, stated the willingness of the United States to further develop bilateral cooperation with Tunisia and to support companies operating in various sectors and promote their products on the US market. He made the remarks on Monday during a meeting with Minister of Industry, Mines and Energy, Fatma Thabet Chiboub, to discuss economic relations between Tunisia and the United States and ways to strengthen them. They also reviewed the cooperation between the two countries and their mutual willingness to further promote it, as well as ways to improve the level of trade relations, according to a press release issued by the ministry. Ambassador Hood highlighted the importance of the role played by US companies operating in Tunisia in promoting trade relations and boosting investments, especially as the US ranks 5th among Tunisian investors with investments worth TND 54.9 million in 2023. For her part, the Minister stressed the need to facilitate the a ccess of Tunisian quality products to US markets and boost trade between the two countries, as well as to discuss joint cooperation mechanisms and explore export and investment opportunities.
