Tunis: Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad Nabil Ammar Tuesday met with Vatican apostolic nuncio in Tunisia with residence in Algiers Kurian Mathew Vayalunkal who paid him a courtesy call, as part of a visit to Tunisia on March 17-19. The minister laid emphasis on the role which the Vatican can play as part of efforts exerted to halt the genocide in the Palestinian territories. He also said Tunisia lends importance to strengthening the spirit of understanding and peaceful coexistence between Islam and other religions on its land. Nabil Ammar said Tunisian authorities are committed to providing conditions conducive to the smooth fucntioning of religious and education institutions of the Catholic Church in Tunisia. The apostolic nuncio offered greetings on the holy month of Ramadan and commended the care and kindness which, he said, are providcd to the Christian community in Tunisia by "the State and a welcoming people." In this connection, he reminded of the attention shown by Pres ident Kaïs Saïed and expressed appreciation for the active role which Tunisia has incessantly played to strengthen the values of peae, fraternity and tolerance across the globe.
