WINDHOEK: Popular Democratic Movement ( PDM ) leader , McHenry Venaani , on Monday extended his condolences to the people of South Africa following the death of that country ' s former finance and labour minister , Tito Mboweni , on Saturday . In a press statement availed to Nampa on Monday , Venaani said Mboweni ' s contributions to his country and beyond were far - reaching , and his trailblazing service as the first black Governor of the South African Reserve Bank remains a milestone in South Africa ' s history . ' Beyond his public service , Mr Mboweni also demonstrated excellence in the private sector , serving as an international advisor to Goldman Sachs ,' said Venaani . He further remarked that Mboweni was not only a man of principle , but also a man of great humour and warmth , who shared his lighter side with the world through social media , where his humour and personality endeared him to many . ' Mboweni was a dear brother and friend whose wisdom and insight will be deeply missed ,' said Venaani , further extending his condolences to the bereaved family . Source: The Namibia Press Agency
