Pretoria: President Cyril Ramaphosa has removed Andrew Whitfield from his position as the Deputy Minister of the Department of Trade, Industry and Competition (dtic). President Ramaphosa expressed gratitude to Whitfield for his service in the Government of National Unity (GNU).

According to South African Government News Agency, his removal was in accordance with Section 93(1) of the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa, 1996. The Presidency has not indicated any intention to conduct a wholesale Cabinet reshuffle.
