ZF Mgcawu: The District Commissioner of ZF Mgcawu, Major General Monica Sebili, is immensely impressed by the teamwork displayed by members in the District during intense actions in concluding Festive Season operations across the ZF Mgcawu District on Friday, 31 January 2025. According to South African Police Service, the disruptive actions by members of the South African Police Service in the ZF Mgcawu District resulted in great successes in all areas where all crimes were addressed. Clustered stations commenced with roadblocks and vehicle checkpoints (VCPs) to address transnational crimes through stop and searches, which continued with drugs and liquor outlets raiding. During these operations, dagga and mandrax tablets with a total estimated value of R107,212.00, as well as liquor worth R16,355.00, were confiscated. Suspects were arrested in various cases, including dealing in drugs, drunk driving, possession of dangerous weapons, illegal possession of military uniform, and illegal possession of copper c ables estimated at R13,800.00. Additionally, a total of nine undocumented persons were arrested under the Immigration Act during compliance inspections. The members will continue with the robust actions to disrupt all criminal activities in the district.
