Two candidates are in the race for the run-off local elections in Ain Batria, Zriba delegation in Zaghouan Governorate, namely Mohamed Ben Haj Salem and Salem Bouzaiane. Candidate Mohamed Ben Haj Salem promised to combat youth unemployment in the region, suggesting that state-owned land be granted to this category of the population, as well as to small farmers. He also called for creating public irrigation schemes in this region, rich in water resources, underlining the need to devise a local development strategy capable of promoting the quality of life of citizens. For his part, candidate Salem Bouzaiane promised to remedy the region's shortcomings in terms of basic infrastructure and integrate it into redevelopment programmes and projects.
