The two candidates in the second round of local elections in the Om Laarayes constituency (Gafsa governorate), Omar Saidi and Mohamed Saidi, shared their electoral programme with the locals on Friday. Candidate Omar Saidi promised to develop infrastructure, find a solution to the problem of drinking water supply, generalize public lighting and properly maintain schools. He also pledged to help with the promotion of the agricultural sector in the region, revive the activity of the industrial area as well as increase the number of medics and paramedics in the Local Hospital of Om Laarayes. Candidate Mohamed Saidi promised to transform the Local Hospital of Om Laarayes into a regional hospital, rehabilitate the railway line, accelerate the construction of the primary school in El Amal City, improve infrastructure and create a new municipal district «Om Laarayes 2».
