The investigating judge at the Gabes court of first instance issued a detention warrant for the former governor of Gabes in a case related to the fraudulent allocation of fodder sale permits.
First deputy public prosecutor to the Gabes court of first instance Mounir Arroum told TAP that the ex-governor has been charged with using his position to procure for himself or a third party an unjustified advantage, and causing damage to the administration.
The ex-governor was sentenced on April 13, 2023, to three months in prison for having continued to exercise his functions after an official decision to dismiss him.
