Tunis: Minister of Employment and Vocational Training Lotfi Dhieb pointed out at a meeting on Monday with International Organisation for Migration (IOM) Chief of Mission in Tunisia Azzouz Samri, the need to step up regular migration channels for the benefit of jobseekers and to develop the national vocational training system. Samri, for his part, outlined the IOM's various activities and programmes, notably the THAMM programme aimed at improving migration governance and coordination between all stakeholders, facilitating regular migration and providing information on labour migration, as well as the MOBI-TRE programme aimed at supporting Tunisian skills living overseas in the creation of projects in Tunisian regions, and the "Helma" project, which aims to offer concrete alternatives to young Tunisians at risk of irregular migration. The minister called in this regard, for capitalising on the successful experiences of these programmes and seeking to broaden their impact, commending the level of cooperation w ith the IOM in the migration field.
