Tunis: The steering committee of MS Bousalem announced Tuesday that the club will not participate in the African Volleyball Club Championship to be held in Egypt next month. In a statement, the committee said that injuries and the physical condition of the mainstays of the first volleyball team, on the one hand, and the lack of financial support, on the other, had led it to take this decision. "The injuries suffered by some of the team's key players at this critical time of the season and the lack of physical preparation were among the reasons for the decision not to participate in the continental championship," the club said in the same press release. The club added that taking part in the African championship would require a considerable amount of money, which would put a strain on MS Bousalem's coffers given the worsening financial situation of sports associations. MS Bousalem had won the last edition of the African Club Championship with a 3-2 victory over Zamalek of Egypt. Source: Agence Tunis Afri que Presse
