Tunis: Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad, Nabil Ammar, met at a working launch on Monday with the ambassadors of the Member States of the European Union (EU) at the residence of the ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium, which holds the rotating presidency of the Council of the European Union, in Tunis. During the meeting, they discussed the existing partnership between Tunisia and the European Union, particularly in its political dimension. They reviewed prospects for strengthening this partnership it in order to develop an effective approach to common challenges in the light of the profound and rapid changes in the world order, according to a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The meeting was also an opportunity to renew the commitment of both sides to strengthen cooperation at all levels, on the basis of mutual respect and transparency and in the framework of the common interest. The Minister highlighted the important role played by Tunisians abroad in the developmen t of their countries of residence. He stressed the need to protect their rights and to create favourable conditions in order to value their contribution to the strengthening of relations between Tunisia and the countries of residence. He also reiterated Tunisia's firm commitment to supporting just causes, first and foremost the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, which are not subject to any statute of limitations, and denounced approaches based on "double standards".
